Terms of Service

Trading Basses connects buyers and sellers of bass gear. We are not a party to the sale between a buyer and a seller, except that we hold the buyer's payment in escrow and release it to the seller only after the buyer approves the condition of the delivered item, as described in our escrow process. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding contract to use the marketplace.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering, listing an item, or placing an order, and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of every listing — including brand, model, year, condition, specifications, photos, and the item's actual condition. Listings must describe the specific item for sale, not a generic stock photo. You may not list items you do not own or do not have ready to ship.

When an item sells, the seller agrees to ship it promptly with tracking and signature delivery, using either a label purchased through Trading Basses or a comparable carrier service. Sellers may not request off-platform payment, ask a buyer to bypass escrow, or circumvent the Trading Basses fee structure.

When a buyer checks out, their payment is charged in full and held by Trading Basses in escrow. The seller is not paid until the buyer receives the item and approves its condition. Upon approval, Trading Basses deducts the seller listing fee — 3% of the sale price, capped at a maximum of $99 — plus card-processing costs, and releases the net payout to the seller.

During our launch promotion, qualifying founding sellers pay $0 in seller fees for the promotional window described on the site. Card-processing fees still apply. See our fee calculator for the exact breakdown.

Where a seller enables offers on a listing, a buyer may submit a price lower than the asking price. Submitting an offer authorizes Trading Basses to charge the buyer's payment method for the offered amount plus any applicable shipping and fees only if the seller accepts the offer. An accepted offer creates a binding purchase subject to the same escrow and condition-approval process as a Buy Now sale.

You may not use Trading Basses to list stolen goods, counterfeit or replica instruments presented as authentic, items prohibited by law, or items you do not have permission to sell. You may not manipulate reviews, shill-bid, coordinate fake transactions, harass other users, or attempt to defraud Trading Basses or another user. We may suspend or terminate accounts and withhold payouts where we reasonably suspect fraud.

Advertisements are paid promotional placements purchased by third-party retailers and are displayed as "Sponsored." Trading Basses does not endorse and is not responsible for the products, offers, or conduct of advertised retailers. See our advertising page for placement terms and pricing.

Trading Basses is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that every listing is accurate, that every transaction will complete, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trading Basses is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from your use of the marketplace, except for amounts we are required to pay or refund under our escrow and refund policies.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of fees Trading Basses earned on the specific transaction that gave rise to the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Trading Basses at any time for a violation of these terms or for conduct we believe is harmful to the marketplace or its users. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify active users. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
