Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a hash) when you register.

Listing information: the brand, model, condition, price, photos, and description you submit when listing a bass, plus your seller location.

Transaction information: buyer name, shipping address, order details, and payment data needed to charge your card, hold funds in escrow, and release a payout. Payment card numbers are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) and Shippo for shipping labels — Trading Basses does not store full card numbers.

Contact and support information: messages you send through our contact form, including the inquiry type and any order number you provide.

Usage information: device type, browser, and the pages you visit, collected to keep the marketplace secure and improve the experience.

We use your information to:

• Operate the marketplace — create listings, process orders, and hold escrow.
• Charge buyers, release payouts to sellers, and issue refunds where required.
• Generate shipping labels and track delivery through Shippo.
• Detect and prevent fraud, disputes, and prohibited conduct.
• Respond to support and order-trouble inquiries.
• Comply with legal obligations and the orders of lawful authorities.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the processors and services needed to run the marketplace (our payment, shipping, and email providers) and where required by law.

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme preference, and keep the site secure. We use a tracking system to attribute contact and lead submissions for our own marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

You can update your account information from your account page. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Where required by law, you may also have rights to data portability and to opt out of certain processing.

We keep your account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the marketplace, resolve disputes, and meet legal and accounting obligations. We remove or anonymize personal data that is no longer needed.

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. Payment data is tokenized and handled by our PCI-compliant processor. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify affected users in the event of a breach as required by law.

Trading Basses is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date and notify you of material changes. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of the revised policy.
